Epowersportsllc.com Site News
Monday June 13, 2005
Aloha to my sparse readers! I’d like to thank you for reading and encourage you to leave a message or reply ![]()
- Sorry for the ez Message boards for still being down - looks like they got maliciously attacked and had alot of data & backup data destroyed and are in the process of restoring things. I’m working on a php board soon, so please be patient as it’s all a learning process for me.
- Big Mahalos to everyone who came out to the June 5th airsoft game at Kualoa Ranch! It was so much fun and the turn out was very good so we booked it again for Sunday July 3, 2005! That way you can play and get used to the field one more time before <a href="http://www.airsofthawaii.com">Airsoft Hawaii’s</a> ASH BASH 2005.
- Epowersports model photoshoots are scheduled and coming soon! I figure besides looking at guns all day long, you guys need something else to look at! You can find the pics later when they are up on the <a href="http://www.epowersportsllc.com/gallery.html">Gallery Page</a>. If anyone has models that are interested, please contact me at <a href="mailto:webmaster@epowersportsllc.com">webmaster@epowersportsllc.com</a>
- v3.0 of the website is currently under construction and should be ready to implement soon. It is a minor revision that uses more text based links instead of the current image based links and adds more features as we have currently outgrown our site. Look for more interactive features, ecommerce and more airsoft community features in the new release…I’ll secretly upload the entire revised site late one night just to surprise everyone!
- Oh and thanks to everyone who didn’t shoot at me during the last game and to those that did shoot me, I got a p99 now, so ill shoot back! haha j/k … I think if I have an orange vest or something, those types of incidents won’t happen much later.
Mahalos for reading,

What a busy week!
June 8, 2005 10:30 a.m.
It’s been such a busy last few days & I’m pretty tired from all the work and social obligations + lack of sleep that I’ve been going through. *sigh* … sometimes I just need to catch my breath!
Epowersports hosted its monthly "No FPS Limit" airsoft game on June 5th at Kualoa Ranch on the northeast side of Oahu, Hawaii. We had about 50 to 60 players as this was an invite-only game due to the no fps limit. I did photo coverage of the games and still got shot again … grrr, but I guess next time I should wear one of those orange vests!
I filled up 2 x 1GB cards on my Canon 20D and got a few good shots & hopefully will learn to do action photography better as time goes on. I hope our website visitors enjoy my pics ![]()
Later that afternoon, I went to Aloha Stadium for a family member’s Mililani HS graduation…that was super long and we didnt get home till 9pm *ugh*…prolly take the kids to the state fair at the stadium this weekend as Friday is a work holiday.
Monday I worked at the hotel and then went to the shop and stayed there till about 4:30 a.m. doing web stuff and watching movies…got 1.5 hours of sleep and was back into the shop again by 9:00 a.m. and worked a full day on Tuesday…We then went to another graduation (nephew) for Castle HS at the Blaisdell and I got home and crashed out from 9pm till 1am - woke up only bc people kept calling me…was on the phone till 330am and then caught 3 hours of sleep…i got to get the game pictures up on the website gallery page soon - thanks guys for being patient!
Our message boards seem to be messed up atm .. damn ezboards, so now i got to download a php board, which is better anyways…
Mahalos,
Elliot

My First Epowersports eBlog!
Web design history for Epowersportsllc.com
Aloha and thanks for stopping by to read my first eblog on Epowersportsllc.com! I guess I should introduce myself properly - I am Elliot Takane, the webmaster for this site and good friend of Ernie. We met over 10+ years ago and have been close friends ever since, so when he told me about his idea to open an airsoft gun shop, I was excited about the possibilities!
I immediately thought about building this website and what a task it would be. My web skills have been advancing step by step with things that you see upon updates and I have to say that looking back just a few months to when the site came online in September 2004 until now, a lot has changed.
For other aspiring web designers/masters like me, I’ll try to chronicle the changes and things that I’ve learned over the last few months. Our first site was built entirely in Photoshop 7.0 and was only one page initially with a few more added as time went on. Visually, it was ok, but it is impossible to read by any of the google robots that scour the internet to index webpages in their search engine databases. Making changes also was a bit more difficult due to the fact that each time, all the images would have to be uploaded to the server taking up time and precious file count and file size limits.
I next moved to our current layout which is photoshop based for the visual template, but all HTML and JavaScript for the filled in areas. This helps tremendously with increasing your web presence as search engines now are able to "see" your page… did a lot of reading on how to optimize this, but at the same time, realized that redisign #3 will be inevitable. I just finished a class on asp.net database programming as well and will try to integrate that to our ever growing site. My personal goal for this year is to have a site that is visually pleasing, easy to use, full of rich content, updated frequently, and full of different features that you, the user, can interact with. By doing so, I am hoping that the other webmasters for our local airsoft shops will continue on the same path to truely make the Hawaii airsoft community a great one that people worldwide will take notice of!
Other airsoft webmasters locally, please contact me at webmaster@epowersportsllc.com. To my readers, thanks for reading and hope you got something out of this blog - post a comment or just say hello.
Mahalos,
Elliot
